Visiting all the majestic sights this city has to offer is a breeze with a rental car. There are numerous car rental agencies around the city center and at the airport. We recommend booking a high-clearance vehicle or a 4x4 if you plan on drifting the sand dunes or navigating the rocky terrains of Jebel Hafeet Mountain.
Please note, they drive on the right side of the road in the UAE. Speed limits range from 40 km/h in urban areas to 120 km/h on highways. Always use your indicator when changing lanes and remember to carry your international driving permit.
Al Ain has plenty of parking spaces both free and paid. Some touristic locations may require a small fee. Note that Friday and public holidays are usually free.
Top attractions include the Al Ain Oasis with its palm groves and tranquil paths, the Al Ain Zoo, home to over 200 species, and the Al Jahili Fort, which has a museum devoted to Emirati culture and history. Don't forget to visit the hot springs at Green Mubazzarah and the city’s highest peak, Jebel Hafeet.
