Pristina International Airport Adem Jashari, also known as Pristina Airport, is the main international gateway to Kosovo. Situated just southwest of the Pristina, the airport handles over 2 million passengers annually, making it the busiest airport in Kosovo. With direct flights from many major European cities, it has become a popular entry point for tourists worldwide.
As you step into the arrivals hall, you'll find a host of car rental stations ready for service. These rental companies typically offer a wide range of vehicles from compact city cars to spacious vans. Notably, Europcar, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and Sixt are among the main providers.
Need to fuel up? Several gas stations are conveniently located near the airport. These include Alpet, Europetrol, and Kastrati on the Pristina-Ferizaj road.
From the airport, it is an easy 20-minute drive to the center of Pristina. The most straightforward route is via the M-9 and M-25.2 highways. Remember though, during peak hours, the roads can be quite busy and parking might be challenging in central Pristina.
Pristina features a continental climate with warm and dry summers and cold winters. Be sure to check the weather forecast when you're planning your journey, so you can pack appropriately and plan your activities.
The currency of Kosovo is the Euro (€). Credit cards are widely accepted, but it's always advisable to carry some cash for small expenses.
While Pristina itself has plenty to offer, there are also several notable cities in the vicinity you might consider visiting, such as Pec, Prizren, and Gjilan.
There's everything putting you on the front foot for your journey to Pristina. Make every moment count!
