The airport Heraklion HER, also called Airport Iraklio "Nikos Kazantzakis", is the main airport of the Greek island Crete. In terms of passenger volume, it is the second largest airport in Greece after Athen Airport. It is named after the writer and philosopher Nikos Kazantzakis, who was born in Heraklion in 1883.
