Located just 13.7 km from the city of Cochabamba, the airport's location makes it the perfect starting point to explore Bolivia's beauty.
The airport hosts several renowned international car rental companies. Here you'll find Hertz, Avis, Budget and Europcar to name a few. Just head to the arrival hall after collecting your luggage and sign up for the vehicle that best suits your journey.
Given the diversity of Bolivia's landscape, from urban cities to mountainous areas, we recommend renting a compact SUV. It offers comfort for city driving and the necessary power to traverse Bolivia's beautiful off-road sceneries.
Ready to hit the road? Don't forget to fill up the tank. Luckily, there are several gas stations within a 5km radius of the airport. One of the closest is YPFB, about 3 km from the airport.
The airport is well-connected to major routes and cities in Bolivia. Driving to Cochabamba takes roughly 25 minutes via Route 4/E-10. The picturesque city of Sacaba is just a half-hour drive via Route 4/E-712. Planning on exploring more? Santa Cruz is a long but worth-it 8-hour drive via Route 7.
The local currency is the Bolivian boliviano. You'll find currency exchange facilities at the airport itself. Most car rental and gas stations accept credit cards too.
While Cochabamba itself offers many attractions like Palacio Portales and Parque de las Aves Agroflori, don't miss out on other surrounding gems. If you're historically inclined, head to the ruins of Incallajta and if you're up for some nature adventures, Parque Nacional Tunari is just a drive away.
The region enjoys a subtropical highland climate. Summers are wet but winters are comfortable and mostly clear. Although the weather is fairly consistent, pack your clothing accordingly.
Ready to kick off your Bolivian adventure with a fantastic car rental experience? Let's rev up those engines and embrace the journey!
