Located 9km southeast of the city center, Kherson International Airport (KHE) is a relatively small but clean and modern airport. It offers several regular flights to the capital Kyiv and international flights to Turkey and Egypt.
Upon arrival, you will find several car rental services available right within the airport premises. Companies like Sixt, Europcar, and local providers operate here, offering a variety of cars to suit every traveler's needs. Be it a small car for the city, a comfortable sedan, or a robust SUV for the countryside - you can choose as per your preferences.
Running on empty? No worries, there are several fuel stations close to the airport. The closest is the OKKO Petrol Station, just a 5-minute drive away, followed by Glusco, Amic, and WOG.
The roads in Ukraine are large and well-maintained. The drive from Kherson International airport to the city center takes around 20 minutes. Once in the city, the majority of roads have signs in both Ukrainian and English, but having GPS is always a good idea to navigate effectively.
Kherson experiences a moderate continental climate. The summers are warm with temperatures ranging between 25 and 35°C (77-95°F). Winters are cold and temperature can drop below 0°C (32°F). It is recommended to check the weather forecasts before your journey and pack accordingly.
