Paros Island, although not extensive, is best explored with a car. We generally recommend a compact to midsize car for easy navigation through the narrow streets and limited parking spaces. A 4x4 may also be a good choice if you're planning on some off-road adventures.
In Greece, driving is on the right-hand side of the road. Seat belts are mandatory for all passengers. The speed limit in urban areas is usually 50 km/h, while on highways, it's typically 90-110 km/h.
Parking in Parikia can be a little tricky, especially during peak tourist season. However, paid parking lots are available in the town center. Some hotels also provide parking options for their guests.
Parikia’s attractions extend beyond the town. The island is surrounded by beautiful beaches, each unique in their character. Also, the town of Naoussa and the small village of Lefkes are worth a visit. A scenic driving route would be Parikia - Naoussa - Lefkes - Aliki - Parikia, a round trip that lets you explore the island's diversity.
Paros is known for its lively local festivals. One of the most significant is the Feast of the Assumption of Virgin Mary on August 15th. The town of Parikia lights up with processions, music, and a lot of food.
