If you're exploring the city only, a compact car or a small SUV can be quite suitable considering the narrow streets. While for suburban areas and long drives, a larger vehicle or luxury SUV would be more comfortable.
Quebec City Jean Lesage International Airport is just 16 km from downtown Quebec City. The city's port also welcomes thousands of cruise tourists every year. The two main train stations, Gare du Palais and Sainte-Foy, are well connected to Montreal and the surrounding cities.
The city has a humid continental climate. Summers are warm and occasionally hot, with periods of hotter weather which can occur from late June to early September, but temperatures above 30 °C (86 °F) are rare. Winters are often cold, windy and snowy.
Quebec City is famous for its Winter Carnival, held annually in February. This winter festival is a must-see if you visit Quebec City in winter.
