You can rent a rental car directly at the airport with a car rental company or book it online in advance. From the airport it is only about 10 km to the city limits.

The Arena di Verona amphitheatre is particularly impressive in the evening. Before the tour of the old town you can safely park your rental car in one of the multi-storey car parks.
Two bridges every visitor should have seen Verona: the Ponte Pietra and the Ponte Scaligero. Both connect the old town with the other bank of the Adige. Your rental car for the trip to Italy must be adequately insured. Ask your car rental company in good time which insurance benefits are possible and select the appropriate option. In addition, if you rent a rental vehicle, check what obligations you have as a driver and under what circumstances the chosen insurance cover expires. If you take out comprehensive protection of the rental vehicle by a comprehensive insurance, a comprehensive insurance without excess is favourable. This means that unlike fully comprehensive insurance with excess, you do not have to pay anything extra in the event of damage.
With almost all providers a deposit is due when renting a rental vehicle. The deposit is usually automatic. Upon conclusion of the rental agreement, the credit card will be debited with the agreed deposit amount or the corresponding amount will be blocked. After the return you will receive the deposit back. The Bail amount depends on the type of vehicle selected, the country of travel and the car rental company.
If you want to visit other cities in Italy after your visit to Verona, a one-way rental is ideal. one way rental or oneway rental means that you are not dropping off your rental car at the same pick-up point as you left. Especially with larger providers there are numerous possibilities to adjust the contract conditions and the place of delivery to your personal holiday plans. Usually, the car rental company charges a collection fee for the car when renting a one-way vehicle.
Especially for longer car journeys a second driver is practical. The main driver gets longer breaks and can enjoy the journey. You must register a second driver with the car rental before starting the trip. You can do this at the airport when you pick up your car at the rental office. The same regulations as for the main driver apply to the required papers and the minimum age.
